Waikanae Park Permanent Course
Orienteering is a sport for individuals and families of all ages using a map to navigate to locations — a great way to discover new parts of a reserve/park or points of interest.
A permanent orienteering course is a fixed orienteering course available for anyone to try or practice orienteering at any time of the year.
Waikanae Park maps
In partnership with Kapiti Coast District Council, Waikanae Park has two course options of different difficulty and distance. Or you can set yourself a time limit and see how many control points you can visit. With this map you can also design your own courses. There is no cost to download a course and have a go.
There are 24 control points consisting of wooden posts with a small orange/white plate. This has the control code number, and a letter to record.
