Tim was 21sec behind a Canadian, though one with a Scandinavian background. Laura Robertson was 19th while Tim's wife was 5th, representing Sweden. There's a sprint on Sunday and a sprint relay on Monday. Follow the events at https://orienteering.sport/event/the-world-games-2025/middle/ Chengdu is 4hrs behind NZ.
Edit Sunday - Tim was 1min down before halfway in the sprint, missing a vital gap to the 4th control, but recovered to 47sec and 9th place. Laura finished 24th.
Edit Monday - Laura kicked off the sprint relay with second place and Tim brought us into the lead, 1sec ahead of Sweden! Go OHV! On leg 3 the Swedes and Czechia inched ahead of Joe (Lynch), and Zara (Stewart) was passed by eventual winner Switzerland and Hungary for 5th. Exciting racing!
