A fine night for last week’s 3hr rogaine at Eastbourne, topped by Steve O’Neill and Tom Crumpton. The only team over 1000 points, their route started with an out-and-back to Days Bay, then navigated the track maze above Orihau Terrace. We don’t know whether they went cross-country to the creek high up above Days Bay but then it was up onto the ridge track and south past Hawtrey (343m, right). They mopped up most of the controls round the McKenzie/Butterfly/Kaeaea Track junctions before descending the latter, and had time for some on the flat before finishing albeit a couple of minutes late.
